Advent means "coming." It is the season marking the four weeks leading up to the birth of Jesus; a time when we prepare our hearts, minds, and lives for the coming of the messiah. While our tendency is to rush right into Christmas, singing carols and celebrating the birth of Jesus, Advent invites us to slow down and dwell in expectation. It reminds us that we are, in many ways, still waiting for our savior to come...
